Women’s Championship

Published on 15th May 2017 in Golf News

Saturday saw the start of the Women’s Championship. It was also Monthly Medal and the third Sliver Spoon Round. Only 24 players in have entered the Championship this year; with not enough entries for the C & D section to go ahead. Sue Cutten had the best Gross score in A grade and Bernadette Piekacz in B Grade. The second round of the competition determines the winner of the Bowie Trophy (best Gross) and the Captain’s Trophy ( best Nett). This year the match play part of the Championship will be as follows, B grade with 16 players will play quarter finals and A grade with 8 players will not. The matchplay finals will be played as set out in the Club syllabus.

The May Monthly Medal was won by Karen Waterson with a Nett 67 and Robyn Matthews was the winner of the third round of the Silver spoon with a Nett 72.

May all entrants in the Club Championship play good golf next Saturday. Good luck all.
