Thousands of dollars and countless man-hours can be poured into an effort to grow grass, only to see those efforts wasted with one pass of a poorly maintained mower.

Tony Hopcraft the turf equipment technician is challenged to properly sharpen and adjust cutting machines to meet the demands of maintaining quality turf.

As winter sets in and the grass growth rate slows, the servicing of machinery ramps up to prepare for spring. Tony is busy undertaking preventative maintenance rebuilding all cutting cylinders on the mowers. This involves replacing bearings and bedknives and grinding the reels to maintain the edges straight and sharp. Preventative maintenance keeps equipment operational and decreases costly repairs.
