West Head Trigolflon Round Two

Published on 25th August 2017 in Golf News

Round two of the Trigolflon has been run and won, and it is fair to say there was a bit of movement on the leaderboard.  Playing the par leg of the event, there were some impressive performances as players put themselves in with a real chance of winning the event.  Unfortunately, there are now several early contenders who may be a bit far back to contend, however, given it is a stroke event in round three anything is possible.

On the Men’s side of the draw, some great scoring by Shane Beggs today has put him in the lead. Not only did Shane’s +5 win the event of the day, it has left him with a handy margin from the chasers after round two – and the only player with a positive score.  Hot on his heels after solid rounds of +2 today are Peter Williams & Clint Holmes.

On the Ladies side of the draw, Suzanne Middleton-Smart & Kate Farrar have both put together two consistent rounds to be well clear of the pack in a tie for the lead.  It is probably a bit early to call it a race between these two, as the Ladies have their stroke event next week as well.

There are plenty of players still in with a chance and in stroke it doesn’t take much to make up ground on the leaders. CLICK HERE to view the leader board after round two.
