2018 Flinders Pro Am

Published on 16th March 2018 in Golf News, Local and Member News

On Wednesday we hosted the 2018 Flinders Pro Am, and an enjoyable day was had by all.  Numbers were slightly up on last year, which is good news, and our course, albeit in calm conditions proved no easy task for our PGA visitors, despite some fine scores by the winners, the Pro’s managed an average score of 71.86 between them, almost three over par.

On behalf of the Club, our thanks go to all our volunteers for their efforts in support of the 2018 Pro Am event.

Unlike last year, the weather was on our side, and all those who attended had an enjoyable time.  The feedback from the visiting golfers, both the professionals and the amateurs was that the quality of the day this year, from the organisation of the day to the registration, catering presentation of the course and clubhouse and  the prizes was one of the best yet.

Overall, the day ended a great success due in no small part to the efforts of our volunteers who give so much, and our staff on course, in the golf shop and administration.

In the amateur event, the best score of the day was a very respectable 43 points from Richard Sherrefs who won the AM field, and in the afternoon, John Squire’s 40 points was enough to win.  CLICK HERE for the AM scores, and CLICK HERE for the PM scores.

Kris Mueck and Luke Hickman both shot rounds of 4-under 65 to be declared joint winners of the 2018 Flinders Ladbrokes Pro-Am.

Teeing off in the afternoon, the pair were able to overcome early leaders John Horvath and Dylan Higgins who both had rounds of 3-under 66.  CLICK HERE for the full Professionals leader board, and CLICK HERE for the PGA wrap of the event.

Below are some of the action shots of the day, and there will be more photos added in the coming days.
