Flinders is hosting the Mornington Peninsula Veterans for round two of their championships on March 13th.  A timely reminder for those interested, that the Vets have membership available.

The Mornington Peninsula Veteran Golfers Association is affiliated with the Victorian Veteran Golfers Association who, along with the other six States and two Territories is affiliated with the Australian Veteran Golfers Union. The MPVGA. was formulated as a body in 1982. It is one of 21 Districts affiliated with the VVGA. and as at the end of 2013, there are over 5,000 veteran golfers in Victoria and 30,000 in Australia. To cater for its own 300 plus members, the MPVGA. provides some 14 quality courses where local, veteran aged players are able to play golf and form great friendships amongst those in their own age group.

Members compete in at least 20 events each year with fields averaging 75 players although quite often the number of members wishing to play outweighs the course capacity and ballots are necessary.  The remainder of the Vets fixture can be found HERE

More information can be found on the Vets website which can be found HERE.  A glance through the course details listed under “Local Courses” reveals an excellent variety of top quality Mornington Peninsula golf courses – all within less than an hour’s travel – and most little more from Melbourne. There is no doubt that interest in Veterans Golf on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula is growing.

Flinders Golf Club has a delegate, Alan Robinson, who is involved in the vets and will be happy to answer any questions members may have about it.
