Bunker Care

Bunker play, conditioning and quality are probably among the most commonly discussed topics when it comes to course care and maintenance.

We would appreciate all our members and guests doing their best to maintain, and enhance the quality and condition of our bunkers when they leave them.

A few helpful points to remember are –

Members are reminded to select the safest entry point when entering a bunker, which is generally the lowest point of the rear of the bunker.  This is important, to ensure the safety of the player and also to protect our bunkers walls maintaining the integrity of the bunker.

Once you have played your shot, and you are leaving the bunker, please ensure the area that has been disturbed has been raked, while ensuring there is not too much sand dragged to the entry point of the bunker, and, if there are any other areas that require attention, please tend to those as well.

Once completed, please ensure the rake is left in the center of the bunker, as pictured, in the direction of play. Course Superintendent, Colin Morrison, penned the following article on our bunkers, and their history – CLICK HERE to have a read.

As well as that, Our friends at Golf Victoria have put together the following video on bunker care.
