Our January calendar is quite a busy one. In conjunction with the Monthly Medal last Saturday, was the second round of the Anne Ford Summer Cup. The final round (winner the best aggregate nett score) will be played on the day of the March Monthly Medal – which happens to be Saturday 29 February!!
Ruby Nase – entries are now open on the Timesheet for this, our Opening Day. Details are to be found comprehensively in the Monthly Newsletter which can be view by CLICKING THIS LINKPlease note that to make your booking online you need to pay for the lunch by credit card. If you prefer to pay cash you make the booking at the pro-shop. The cost is $27.50 for a 2 course lunch. If you cannot play golf but would like to come to lunch please call the office and speak to Kim.
The Summer Cup – played over the 4 Tuesdays of January – a handicap Matchplay event, open to mixed or single gender pairs – has reached the semi-final stage. There are still 2 women, playing in mixed pairs, in the competition.
This Saturday, 18 January, is a Foursomes Stableford event. It is also the qualifying round of the Doris Chambers Cup. The winners will progress towards the final of this Victoria-wide event.
Thursday, 23 January, the 2nd round of the Stableford Shield will be played in conjunction with the day’s play. The final round will be Thursday 06 February. The winner is the best score of 2 of the 3 rounds. There is still plenty of opportunity to score well.
Saturday 25 January – entries open for our LINDA MCKEE Matchplay Knockout event. This is open to all members, it is a handicap event. Please put your name on the entry form posted in the locker room. You are encouraged to enter this traditional event, it is the only one of this format on the annual calendar.
We have planned a Matchplay practice day on Thursday 13 February. Those who have not had much or any Matchplay experience, please put your names on the allocated tee times on the Timesheet or speak to Josh or Connor in the pro-shop. We will include at least one more experienced Matchplay member on each tee time. The first round of LINDA MCKEE is to be completed by 22 February.
Details of Presentation Night (08 Feb) are in the Newsletter now on the website. This is a very convivial evening and a chance to recognize the golfing achievements of friends and fellow members and perhaps for them to recognize your achievements over the past year.
