Summer Bridge

Another offering about which we are excited is Bridge lessons over the summer.  It has been sad that we have been unable to play Bridge in the regular way for many months. Hence, Peter Lain has been unable to run his very successful Duplicate sessions on Mondays.  Nor have we been able to continue Wednesday’s supervised Bridge.  However, we are please to report that we have an exceptional new Bridge offering planned for summer, in particular on every Friday in January 2021.  The very popular and excellent Bridge teacher, Justin Mill, has agreed to provide seminar style Bridge lessons that we hope and expect will be permissible under prevailing COVID restrictions.  There will be a morning and afternoon session, the morning dedicated to players between Beginner and Intermediate and the afternoon session for Intermediate to Advanced. We need classes of 20 in each to keep the cost at a minimum.  Interest is already keen so watch out for an email closer to the time and book early.  Priority will be given to FGC members.

The important thing to note is that the Beginner to Intermediate session will not be suitable for absolute beginners.  Justin needs those attending this class to have a basic understanding of bidding in Bridge. Ideally you will have done a Beginner course in the past.  But if not, there are very good beginner lessons run by Joan Butts on-line.  If you compete her Beginner course in the interim, you will be fine for Justin’s morning class.
