Return To Golf

Dear Members,

With the Government remaining tight lipped on the ease of restrictions, we wish to advise everyone we are ready for a return to golfing activities.

Our General Committee and Sub Committee’s have been busy preparing our best guess assumptions for when we can again open our course to members. We have no crystal ball on the details of opening and format, however we wish to confirm everything within our control is ready to go.

Our Superintendent Colin Morrison and his team, have our course in great shape for our return. Although a little damp under foot, having had 88mm of rain in the first 9 day’s of October, the course as a whole is looking terrific. Please on our return, can all members help keep it looking great by repairing divot’s, pitch marks and the like. Our course is going to experience a high volume of player traffic over the coming months and your assistance to keep it in great shape will be greatly appreciated.

Our Proshop, Josh & Alex are ready. They have remodelled and stocked all the shelves ready to go. Timesheets are set up, temporary local rule in place, Mi-Score is activated, carts are charged and ready to go. Josh is ready to take lesson bookings as soon as he gets the green light from Golf Australia.

Our Clubhouse administration staff have been there all the way and have prepared for our return, they are always on hand if you have any enquiry.

Our hospitality staff may need to wait a little longer to return, with hospitality restrictions still unknown, but all are working through suggestions for initial hospitality offerings under the govenment guidelines.

Whilst it is unclear as to when or in what format we may return, we are prepared for any return at all. I wish to confirm as soon it is confirmed by the government our timesheets will open for bookings shortly after along with a tailored Golf Course Guidance.

Initially our golf course access will be Members Only 6 days of the week, with minor exception. On Sundays as well as Member bookings, we will be taking visitor bookings. Timesheet bookings will open 8 days in advance. Four days prior a Monday, Wednesday and Friday we will except a phone booking only for Members guests and visitors.

Our Proshop will be inundated with phone calls, please help to relieve the load by making all golf bookings on line.

Please all be mindful of others trying to get on for a game by not making excessive bookings. For those Members available to play mid week, please be respectful of those that work during the week and can only play golf on a Saturday or Sunday.

Please be patient during the initial period as we return to golf, the website booking system will at times be overloaded.

I look forward to seeing you all around the links of our great course very soon. All the very best for your return to golf, exciting times!

Kind Regards,

Dean Burrows
Flinders Golf Club Captain
