Testimonials

“Pathways created an easy way for me to see if I might like to play golf. What I found was great relaxed teaching, some terrific people and a completely unexpected passion for the game. Pathways helps create a playing group and the relaxed playing atmosphere needed to learn how to play. You can play at your own pace. The buddy system is key to putting everything into practice. I now play up to 3 times a week and have made some firm friends. Who knew! – Bridget “Bodge” Beattie”

“The Pathways Program was amazing and so much fun. It made me feel very welcome at FGC right from day one. The emphasis was always to enjoy ourselves. There was no pressure to join the Club but our group did join and now play together every week socially. – Sue Slater”

“I couldn’t have a found a better way to be introduced to golf. I had always wanted to try the game, coming from a family a golfers, but not had the opportunity. Pathways was perfect way to learn skills and develop more skills and friendships. Looking forward to my times on the course. – Suzie Wakefield”

“What a great program, after being ‘talked’ into it by my husband, I am now a happy golfer playing regularly. We were so welcomed by everyone involved in the Pathway program and at the Flinders Gold Club. Even now, long after we finished, the team are still making sure our golf participation is an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this program – even if you have never considered playing golf but, watch out, you will get hooked! – Deb Lever”

“My experience with the first pathway clinic was all positive. Firstly, it provided me with the opportunity to decide if I wished to play golf.  The group clinics were great, not too intense.   Josh was always patient and positive. He never bombards you with comments and instructions, but guides you gradually through your strokes. It was great to have buddies and mentors to take us out on the course. Meeting other new members has been reassuring and we now always have someone to call on for a game. I am thoroughly enjoying the game, the club and the friendship that began in the Pathway clinic. Thank you to all the mentors and to Josh. – Prue McLaughlin”

“Brilliant program. I’m not a sports person and thought I would never be able to hit a golf ball. That changed when I completed the Pathway Course. Josh, the professional , along with the support of a team of lovely Club members working as Buddies gave me the skills and encouragement to play golf. I’m still learning but have the confidence that I will get a handicap and enjoy playing golf with my husband and friends at Flinders Golf Club. – Sharann Johnson “

“The pathways program was exactly what I wanted, it provided a safe environment to gain the confidence to be able to play a game of golf. Josh did a great job at teaching us the skills involved and the buddies gave us the support to put those skills into practice. Pathways gave me the opportunity to be a part of a group and have I made many new friends. – Trish Maginness”

“The Pathways program offered at Flinders GC was an easy entrée into the world of golf for a rather late starter! I was a bit nervous about learning but found that the relaxed atmosphere, great teaching by Josh, the camaraderie of the other participants and a healthy dose of laughter put my qualms to rest. The beauty of the surroundings certainly add to the enjoyment and I am very happy to now be a new club member too! – Gillian Hund”
