Elimination Ambrose

Elimination Ambrose: is a handicap event, and the team handicaps will be calculated as follows: teams of four will play off 1/8 of team’s aggregate handicap; teams of three 1/6 of the aggregate.

Ambrose is a team game, where all players hit off, then the best or preferred ball is selected, and all subsequent shots are played from that spot, where the best option is selected again, and so on until the hole is completed.

Each team should have a captain who is in charge of selecting the best or preferred ball.

The Special conditions for Elimination Ambrose are as follows:

  • all team members tee off from the first tee, and the preferred ball is chosen
  • once the ball is selected for the team’s next shot, its owner is eliminated from that shot, returning to play for the team’s subsequent shot.
  • The elimination is ‘reset’ once the ball is holed, so all players are permitted to hit off each hole.

Teams of four, each player must use 2 drives only; and teams of three the maximum for any one player is 3 drives;

Please mark these on the card. The practice of “tapping in” a short putt, intended to count only if no other team member makes their putt is encouraged on the night in order to speed up play.
