Supplementary Conditions of Competition

 

1. Entry

  1. Entries accompanied by the entry fee of $20 must be submitted to the Pro shop no later than the published closing date. Late entries will only be accepted if approved by the Captain.

  2. Member categories eligible to enter are 7-day, Veteran, Super Veteran, Life, Age Based Junior and Flexible.

  3. A draw will be conducted after entries close and will be posted on a notice board in the Pro shop and the FGC website

  4. Please refer to FGC Syllabus / Calendar of Events published on the FGC website for relevant dates.

 

2. Format

  1. The format of the event is 4BBB elimination handicap matchplay.

 

3. Rules

  1. The event is conducted under the R&A Rules of Golf, the Local Rules of the Flinders Golf Club and the FGC General Conditions of Competition. The decisions of the Golf Committee in the application of these rules are final and binding on all competitors.

  2.  Competitors (or their caddies) must not ride on any form of motorised transportation in this event unless they are over 70 years of age or have submitted a medical certificate, which is acceptable to, and has been approved by the Golf Committee. Any approved transportation is for that purpose only and if weather protection shields are fitted, they must not be used. Penalty statement in FGC General Conditions of Competition applies.

  3. Once the draw has been completed, and before the first round commences, any request for a change to team composition must be approved by the Golf Committee.

  4. Teams are to make timely contact with each other to ensure matches are completed by the final permissible date for each round. In the event any team is having difficulty in organising a match within the permitted time, or are unable to play the final on the scheduled day, the Golf Committee must be notified at the earliest possible opportunity whereupon it will, entirely at their discretion,either set a time for the match to be played, award a walkover or allow an extension of time for the match to be played if the circumstances are of an extraordinary and unforeseeable nature as to warrant this.

  5. The event will be played from the Black plates unless otherwise indicated by the placement of movable tee markers on the day of play.

  6. Players will use their GA handicap on the day the match is played adjusted by the slope rating for the Black Course.

  7. Shots given or received are calculated from the lowest marker’s handicap that becomes scratch.Each player’s daily handicap is reduced by the value of the lowest marker’s handicap. Strokes are applied in accordance with the Match Play index on the scorecard.

Example: Players convert their GA handicap to a daily handicap using the Handicap
Lookup Chart for the Black Course. Player A is on 7 and his partner player B is on 10. Player C is on 10 and his partner player D is on 16. Player A goes to 0, players B and C go to 3 and player D goes to 9. Players B and C receive shots on match play index holes 1 – 3 and player D receives shots on match play index holes 1 – 9.

     viii. Play must commence on the 1st Tee.
     ix.  In any round of this event a match that ends all square shall continue with a sudden death basis commencing on the 1st tee and continuing until such time as either team wins a       hole. Handicap strokes shall be applied as in the stipulated round.
     x.  The final of the event shall be played on the date scheduled in the FGC Calendar of Events unless rescheduling is authorised by the Golf Committee.

 

Event Information

  1. The event is an honour board event and the winners’ names shall be inscribed on the board positioned in the clubhouse.

  2. The winners each receive an invitation to the annual presentation night where they will be presented with an Award.

  3. The runners up will each receive a trophy voucher on the Pro Shop to the value of $25.
