Supplementary Conditions of Competition

 

1. Entry

  1. The Junior Championship will be run concurrently with the Club Championships and the daily competition,and therefore the entry fee for each round is that of the daily competition.

  2. Member categories eligible to enter are Age Based Members who have not reached the age of 18 prior to the date of the first round.

  3. A minimum number of four entrants is required for the Junior Championship to be held.

 

2. Format

  1. The Format for the Junior Championship is a Mixed Gender 54 hole gross stroke event to be played over three rounds on dates as promulgated in the FGC Syllabus / Club Calendar of Events.

  2. Players will be eligible to compete concurrently, in the same gender Men’s or Women’s Club Championships for which they will be graded according to their GA handicap at the commencement of round 1 as per the relevant supplementary conditions of competition for each of those events.

  3. If a player competing in the Junior Championship is competing in the concurrent C Grade Championship, then the junior player will play gross stroke format & will not be required to play stableford format for Rounds 2 & 3 (as is stipulated in the Men’s & Women’s Championships Supplementary Conditions of Competition). For the purpose of calculating a C Grade Championship score for that Junior player, the Golf Committee will convert the gross scores in rounds 2 & 3 to a Stableford score.

 

3. Rules

  1. The event will be conducted according to the Rules of Golf including the FGC General Conditions of Competition and Local Rules. Where the word “Committee” is used in this or any of the Rules documents it will mean the Golf Committee of the FGC whose decisions will be final and binding on all competitors.

  2. Players (or their caddies) must not ride on any form of transportation in this event unless they are able to produce a medical certificate acceptable to the Committee. Any approved transportation is for that purpose only and if weather protection shields are fitted, they must not be used. Penalty statement in FGC General Conditions of Competition applies.

  3. The event will be played from the Black (Boys) & Blue(Girls) plates unless otherwise indicated by the placement of movable Black(Boys) / Blue(Girls)tee markers on the day of play.

  4. In the event of a tie, the result will be decided in a three hole playoff over holes 1, 17, & 18.In the event of a further tie, the result will be decided in a sudden death playoff commencing at hole 1 and continuing as required over holes 17, 18, 1, 17, 18 etc. continuously until a winner is decided.

  5. Seeding will be introduced in the final round with the leading 3 players being allocated tee times. Seeded players must play at the allocated time. Players outside of the seeding will be eligible to win, however it is the player’s responsibility to remain at the Club to be available for a play off if one is required.

  6. If there is a need to suspend play, the provisions set out in the FGC General Conditions of Competition will apply.

 

4. General Information

  1. The Junior Championship is an Honour Board event and the winner’s name shall be inscribed on the Honour Board positioned in the clubhouse

  2. The Junior Champion will receive an invitation to the annual Presentation Night where they will be presented with their award.

  3. In addition, the Junior Champion may nominate 2 immediate family members (at least one to be a parent / guardian)to receive invitations to the annual Presentation Night
