Supplementary Conditions of Competition

 

1. Entry

 

  1. Entry into the competition may be made by the online booking system or through the Pro Shop. Refer Flinders Golf Club (FGC) Syllabus / Calendar of Events for dates.

  2. The entry fee is $10 per team per 18 hole round.

  3. Member categories eligible to enter are 7day, Veteran, Super Veteran, Life, Age Based and Flexible. NOTE: If the event is scheduled for 2 Sundays, then additionally 6day and 5day members categories are eligible to enter.

 

2. Format

 

  1. The event is 36 holes gross Foursomes Stroke Play, played over two 18 hole rounds.

  2. The winner of the event will be the team which records the lowest 36 Hole gross score.

  3. A minor event 36 holes net Foursomes Stroke Play will be played concurrently, with the handicaps being applicable to round one to be applied for the duration of this event.

 

3. Rules

 

  1. The event will be conducted according to the Rules of Golf including the Flinders Golf Club (FGC) General Conditions of Competition and Local Rules. Where the word “Committee” is used in this or any of the Rules documents it will mean the Golf Committee of the FGC whose decisions will be final and binding on all competitors.

  2. The event will be played from the Black plates for men and the Red plates for women unless otherwise indicated by the placement of movable tee markers on the day of play.

  3. Players (or their caddies) must not ride on any form of transportation in this event unless they are over 70 years of age or are able to produce a medical certificate acceptable to the Committee. Any approved transportation is for that purpose only and if weather protection shields are fitted, they must not be used. Penalty statement in FGC General Conditions of Competition applies.

  4. Order of play in the 1st round shall be men on odd tees and women on even tees and in the 2nd round women on odd tees and men on even tees.

  5. In the event of a tie in the Championship after 36 holes of play has been completed, the result shall be decided in a sudden death play-off commencing at the 1st hole and continuing until such time as either team secures a win on a hole.

  6. Each round of the event will run concurrently with a daily net foursomes stroke event. In the daily competition handicaps are calculated as ‘half’ of the partners’ aggregate handicaps.

  7. Players unable to play both rounds of the Championship are eligible to play one round only and compete in the concurrent daily event.

 

4. General Information

 

  1. The event is an Honour Board event.

  2. Gross event winners will each receive an invitation to the annual Presentation Night where they will be presented with their award.

  3. The Gross event winners are ineligible to win the minor (net) event.

  4. The runnersup will each receive a voucher redeemable at the pro shop to the value of $25.00.

  5. The winners of the minor (net) event will each receive a voucher redeemable at the pro shop to the value of $25.00.
