Course Work This Week

Dusting of Greens

On Monday the course staff lightly dusted the greens with sand, which is critical in diluting thatch as it accumulates.

Thatch is the intermingled layer of living and dead grass stems between the soil surface and the leaf blades. We are dusting the greens throughout the winter using kiln dried sand which helps firm and smooth the surface. The dusting is brushed into the canopy to minimise disruption to play.

3rd Gold Tee

The newly constructed 3rd gold tee was also turfed this week. Other gold tees to be re-aligned/ constructed are on holes 15 and 18.

1st Hole Planting

Banksia trees have been planted to enhance the view from the clubhouse of the LHS 1st hole. These trees will screen the view of the ground staff access track used to enter the course and provide future protection for the 2nd tee.
