Men’s Matchplay Championship

Published on 24th June 2017 in Golf News

First off Saturday morning to contest this years Matchplay Championship over 36 holes was Adrian Smith (and caddie Kent Davis, looking dapper in his Christmas in June ensemble) up against our Club Champion Alec Morley. Speeding ahead of the field in time for breakfast at the clubhouse saw Alec with a handy six shot lead. Back out well before noon, our Club Champion kept his lead adding the Matchplay Championship title to his trophy cabinet.

B Grade Champion for 2017 Andrew Sinclair (joining his Father on a Matchplay Honour) was victorious over Michael Gielb on the 16th hole.

C Grade was a tussle to the last and then went down the 19th. Harry played regulation Golf on for 2, Keith Johnson from the trees at 2nd tee played his 3rd shot from the bunker to within 10″ to claim the title.

Congratulations to all this years winners and those who contested in the competition.
