West Head Trigolflon Final Round

Published on 2nd September 2017 in Golf News

As was the case from the beginning of this event, the third round was always going to be ‘moving day’, a stroke format, with plenty of points to be made up with a good score, and plenty to lose with a bad score.

Coming from the clouds early in the day was Harry Tiesdell-Smith, who had a magnificent net 67, which was not only enough to win the day, but it took him from outright last after round two of the Trigolflon to the clubhouse leader for the best part of the day.  No wonder Harry was hanging around the pro shop checking people’s scores as they finished!!

While a couple of the round two leaders, in Shane Beggs and Clint Holmes bravely hung in there with scores of 75 and 74 receptively, most found the going a bit tough.

After all was said and done, it was Adrian Smith who came from a long way back, scoring a fine 69, which  was enough to maintain his two round score, and take out the 2017 West Head Trigolflon by 70 points from Shane, with Clint a further 20 points back.

Congratulations to Adrian!!
