Pennant Report

A couple of lean weeks for our pennant team. A home fixture this Saturday against Balnarring gives us all a great opportunity to come down and lend our support to the teams.

Tuesday Social Bowls

The first week of Tuesday Bowls was a great success – the weather was beautiful and the bowling fun as always. Remember, if you want to be in the game, be there by 12.30 for a 1pm start, finishing about 5pm. Green fees $8, casual clothes. You don’t have to be in the game, a social roll or practice is available if you prefer. All welcome – bring some friends!

Beverley Marshall Day

Beverley Marshall Day was sunny and warm and the wind gave the bowlers some challenges! The trophy was won by Kerrin Nelson, Claire Thorn and Roger Wilson.

Life member Jean Strong drew the raffle, which was won by Sue Barrett. Our thanks to Flinders General Store for their donation of a couple of beautiful bottles of local wine. Jean Strong was an enthusiastic supporter on Beverley Marshall Day.

The winners are presented with their trophy by president, Hillis Houston.

Betty Tumney, raffle ticker seller extraordinaire.

Try Bowls Days

A nasty drizzly morning put paid to any enthusiasm for our second Try Bowls Day on October 22nd. Ah well, better luck next year.

Barefoot Bowls

Our Barefoot Bowls campaign has begun in earnest on Facebook, and on the Flinders Village website. Look out for posters and fliers everywhere as well. Starts this Sunday. Bring everyone you can think of!

Flinders Goes Digital

Giselle and Claire have been working very hard on getting our new ‘landing page’ together and it will be up and running very soon. What this means is that when someone ‘Googles’ Flinders Bowls Club they will get our dedicated page, which sits alongside the official Golf Club page, instead of going straight to the golf club site and then having to hunt for bowls information.

Keep an eye out – coming very soon – www.bowlsatflindersgolfclub.com.au

We will also be advertising on Facebook and have an Instagram account. All aimed at getting our presence felt and getting new members in.

As always, please contact any committee member with questions, ideas, feedback, issues etc. We want every member to be involved and active as we drive the club forward.

See you on the green!
