Super Saturday!!

Published on 25th November 2017 in Golf News

Today’s conditions were very good for golf, so it is not surprising in the Par event, a round of square was not good enough to get you into the top 30 on the leaderboard.

There were two remarkable rounds played here today at Flinders that are worth noting.

Firstly, Bob Wilson shot a remarkable +8 playing off 9, which equates to 70 off the stick.  A par round or better was on the cards, as Bob was -1 standing on the 16th tee!  This achievement in itself is worth noting, but Bob also bettered his age off the stick today as well, which is a rare feat on golf, and one to be celebrated.  Congratulations Bob!

Another noteworthy performance was put in by former Club Champion Rob Curic, who broke par here for the first time.  Rob played the back nine in -3, which included a birdie up the last to ensure he signed off for a par score of +4, which equated to 68 if we count strokes.  Well done Rob!

It should also be noted that there were several other great scores today – including +7 from Ross Pilling, playing off 9, and a pair of +5’s from George Lyon & John Ries.  Judy Rex also had a great day winning the Women’s event with +4.  CLICK HERE for the day’s results.

Both scorecards are below, for those wondering how it was done.
