Warrant Officers Cup

Published on 6th January 2018 in Golf News

It is fair to say the weather forecast was pretty accurate.

After a beautiful morning, which was perfect for golf, the temperature and the wind rose significantly throughout the day.

The AM field made it round before the worst of it, and enjoyed a well deserved lunch.  Ian Johnson was the best performer in the morning with a very respectable +2, perhaps a testament to the conditions, and the fact that from the back markers, Flinders is a challenge.

After lunch the temperature rose some more, and the afternoon field found the conditions tough, except for Alan Watson, who managed a remarkable +5 considering the conditions.  A big thank you to the Pro Shop staff & the volunteers who were delivering water throughout the afternoon.

The cool change finally arrived late in the day, which was a welcome relief for those still out there.

Our winner overall, with two consistent rounds of -1 and square was Michael Jenkinson, who was one shot clear of Alec Morley at -2.

Congratulations to those who made it round 36 holes, and a big thank you to Colin and his team for the condition of the course, as well as Baz and his team for the coffee at 6am, the lunch and the after golf snacks.

A great day all round.
