Summer Open Wrap
Published on 3rd December 2018 in Local and Member News, Local NewsA bumper field of 88 players teed it up in the 2018 Summer Open, reports from some of the regular volunteers at the event were that this was the largest field in 10 years.
No doubt, a reflection on the dual shotgun start as opposed to a two tee start, but also a reflection on the increased awareness of the event, as well as everythign else The Flinders Golf Club has to offer.
The feedback on the day from all players was exceptional, which is also a testament to our course staff for presenting the course that they do, the hospitality team for providing the quality of service and fare that they do, and the golf shop team for providing the service that they do.
Trying conditions for the players from the start, with scattered showers and winds – but it was alot better than 2017!
A field of high quality golfers didn’t have it all their own way. As we know, when the wind is up, Flinders is a challenging test for even the best golfers, so much so that there was only one gross score all day below par. CLICK HERE for the full list of scores.
