The Flinders Silverspoon play off for 2019 was played in conjunction with the August Monthly Medal. There were Four qualifiers who played in very wet conditions to see who would be making the finals. The competitors were Jane Chidgey, Sue Wilson, Mary Hosking and Trish Best.

After a tough day weather wise Mary came out best finishing by winning the Silver Spoon on a countback over Jane Chidgey.

The Silverspoon is a state wide women’s event and was first played in 1921 where silver medals were given to each player and a gold medal given to the play-off winner until 1925. Today each player receives a silver spoon and the winner receives a case of six spoons.

Well done to all of this year’s contestants and we wish Mary Good Luck in her final at the Keysborough Golf Club on Monday the 13th of November.
