MiScore Coming Soon

The MiScore App is coming soon!

Our Golf Committee is pleased to announce we will be trialing the MiScore App, for the handicapping of scores, when we return to golf.

Our Club’s golf software provider MiClub has recently released a new mobile scoring App and has offered Flinders Golf Club access at no cost through until October 31 to assist in combating the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the impact on members while at the club. From 1 November there will be a cost of $16.50 annually paid within the App for any members wishing to continue to use this method. This cost will also allow members to utilise the MiScore App at other clubs and courses that have approved its use (approximately 300 nationally).

Flinders Golf Club will be added to the App and will be available from the App Store and Googleplay in the next few days. This software will reduce physical interactions between touch screens and scorecards and encourages social distancing measures being recommended by government. Further information will be provided in the coming week.

The App, which is available on compatible android and apple phones, allows members to enter hole by hole scores during their round, rather than using a traditional physical scorecard. This scoring app has recently been approved by the R&A and Golf Australia as a method of scoring.

Currently the App is configured to allow players to submit their own score after verbal approval with their playing partner/marker. We wish to confirm players using the App will need to register a marker and ensure the marker is keeping score in some means to verify the players score at the end of the round for their score to be handicapped.

Furthermore we wish to confirm the FGC will continue to use our current Mi-Score card scan for all competitions when permitted to return to competition golf by the Governing Authorities.

App score entry provides a number of features and benefits including:

  • Distance to the middle of the green information via GPS
  • Pace of play round timer
  • Reduced physical transmission opportunities of corona virus
  • Live scoring

Further information will be provided to members as soon as the App is available.
