Pathway to Golf Group 4

Josh congratulated our latest group of 35 Pathway to Golf participants as he presented their graduation certificates at the Clubhouse recently.

He praised them for their commitment and enthusiasm and strongly encouraged them to continue practising and playing as much golf as possible.

Over celebratory drinks, Gaye Wymond presented the Pathway “Champion” Smiley trophy to Mary and David Linder. This fun award is a recognition of those who fully embrace the Pathways program, encourage and rejoice in the success of others.

The Pathway participants gratefully expressed their thanks to Denise Kibby and the twenty Buddies who tirelessly volunteer their time to ensure the ongoing success of this program.

New to Golf

The inaugural New to Golf program concluded just before Christmas. This six week program consolidates the Pathway to Golf program by introducing information on scoring, etiquette and rules combined with practical ambrose sessions with experienced golfers.

Here’s what the participants had to say about the program.

“It removed the big barrier of starting out on your own. Learning, getting to know people, becoming comfortable on the course, fun, tips and feeling part of the club.”

“Because there are so many rules and protocols to golf it is really hard to know all of this at the beginning and having it all explained right from the start is way less daunting.”

“I have now found a sport that I really enjoy!”

“From the lessons with Josh, the great mentoring, the lovely new friendships made, the beautiful golf course, wonderful help at the Pro Shop and Clubhouse. Fantastic way to start playing golf. The New to Golf membership is a great incentive to keep practising all the aspects of golf that we have learnt.”

Thanks again to all our wonderful volunteers at the Flinders Golf Club!
