Supplementary Conditions of Competition

1.   Entry

  1. The Club Championships are run concurrently with the daily competition and therefore the entry fee is included in the daily entry fee.

  2. Entry is through the clubs online booking sheet.

  3. Member categories eligible to enter are 7 day, Veteran, Super Veteran, Life, Age based and Flexible.

2.   Format

  1. The Championship is a 54 Hole gross stroke event for A and B Grade players. It is to be played over three Saturday rounds as set out in the members’ calendar of events. C Grade will play three rounds of stableford.

  2. Players will be graded according to their GA handicap at the commencement of round 1 as follows:

         A Grade: GA handicap up to a maximum of 16.5

         B Grade: GA handicap between 16.6 and 26.4.

         C Grade: GA handicap 26.5 and above.

  1. As C Grade is a stableford competition, handicaps at the start of the championships remain for all three rounds.

  2. The first round is played concurrently with the monthly medal. C Grade players may play stroke to be eligible for the medal.  Their scores will be converted to stableford for the Championship.

3.   Rules

  1. The event will be conducted according to the Rules of Golf including the Flinders Golf Club (FGC) General Conditions of Competition and Local Rules. Where the word “Committee” is used in this or any of the Rules documents it will mean the Golf Committee of the FGC whose decisions will be final and binding on all competitors.

  2. Players (or their caddies) must not ride on any form of transportation in this event unless they are over 70 years of age or are able to produce a medical certificate acceptable to the Committee. Any approved transportation is for that purpose only and if weather protection shields are fitted, they must not be used. Penalty statement in FGC General Conditions of Competition applies.

  3. The event will be played from the Blue plates unless otherwise indicated by the placement of movable Blue tee markers on the day of play.

  4. In the event of a tie the result will be decided in a Playoff over holes 1,17,18.  If it is still tied, sudden death on hole 1 continuously. C grade will be decided via a countback.

  5. Seeding will be introduced in the final round with leading players from A and B Grade being allocated tee times. Players outside of the seeding will be eligible to win, however it is the player’s responsibility to remain at the Club to be available for a play off if one is required.

  6. If there is a need to suspend play, the provisions set out in the FGC General Conditions of Competition will apply.

4.   General Information

  1. The Championship is an Honour Board event and the winner’s name shall be inscribed on the Honour Board positioned in the clubhouse.

  2. Winners of each grade will receive an invitation to the annual Presentation Night where they will be presented with their award.

  3. The Women’s Match Committee reserves the right to amend the event and conditions of play as deemed necessary.
