Supplementary Conditions of Competition

 

1. Entry

i. Women members enter by writing your name on the Linda McKee Matchplay Championship List display in the women’s locker room late January/early February or by contacting the Women’s Captain expressing an interest to play.

 

2. Format

i.  Individual Handicap Matchplay from the first tee
ii. The Women’s Captain is responsible for doing the draw and displaying the draw in the Women’s Locker room and if possible emailing the draw to all participants.

 

3. Handicaps

i.  Players handicaps used must be current on the day of the match. (daily handicap)
ii. Full strokes to apply, i.e. player A- H/C 20. Player B- H/C 36:- therefore player A must give player B 16 strokes.

 

4. Rules

i. Opponents are to be drawn and matches to be played by designated dates.
ii. Competitors shall make themselves available to play on at least three days of each round.
iii. When a match is booked and a player withdraws, the match is forfeited unless it can be agreed by both players within the designated date range.
iv. All matches prior to the Final are to be played off the markers of the daily competition. Players are not to play their match if gold markers are set as daily
markers.
v. The Final is to be played off the Red Plates unless otherwise indicated by the placement of movable tee markers on the date set in Club’s Calendar of events.
A referee is not mandatory but preferable for the Final. The Golf Committee appoints the referee.
vi. All matches are to be played to the conclusion. Should a match be tied on the 18th hole, play must continue to the conclusion

 

5. General Information

i. The Championship is a Trophy event and the winner’s name shall be inscribed on the Linda McKee Perpetual Trophy and receive an invitation to the Clubs Presentation Night.
ii. Mrs. Linda McKee presented the perpetual trophy to the Club when the singles knockout matchplay competition was first introduced.
iii. The Golf Committee reserves the right to amend the event and conditions of play as deemed necessary.
