Foundation

The Flinders Golf Club Foundation was established in 2021 through the generosity of the late John Winneke and the foresight of the Board of Flinders Golf Club which allowed us to begin with a capital base of $100,000.

The Foundation is not a separate legal entity, but all funds held by the Foundation and its activities will be separately accounted for in the Club accounts.

This permanent fund will be administered independently from the Club administration to help preserve, improve and maintain the standards and facilities at Flinders.

The Trustees have now endorsed a target of $1m which, will provide a significant start to support Club plans.

Outside of a vote by Members only the income from the Foundation may be used on Club projects.

The Foundation will seek support through direct donations or bequests.

Additionally, donations can be made through the Australian Sports Foundation which will be tax deductible.

To date we have received a number of donations from members with the total fund now in excess of $300,000.

Also, there are a number of bequests which have been advised which is great news.

When considering making a donation we would ask you also consider a bequest, legacy and other deferred gifts through your will. We have forms available you can access for discussion with your personal advisors.

While other competing causes seek your support, The Flinders Golf Club is such an important part of our lives. We firmly believe it is appropriate we support the Foundation so future generations can gain as much enjoyment as we do.

A member considering support for the Foundation is invited to discuss their plans with the Trustees listed below.
